Two Chinese Nationals Kidnapped in Ogun State, Nigeria

Two Chinese nationals, Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, were abducted on Sunday in the Kémta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road in Ogun State, Nigeria. The two men, who work with Good One Carton Company in the area, left their workplace around 1:45 pm to visit friends without any security escort.

On Monday, Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the kidnapping. According to her, the kidnappers have reached out to the company, demanding a ransom for the safe release of the two men.

Security operatives in Ogun State have since launched a massive manhunt to find and rescue the victims. The operation includes efforts from local vigilantes, military personnel, local hunters, and other security groups. Despite thoroughly searching the forest area around Kémta Village, the search teams have not yet located the abducted men.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of foreign workers in the area and highlights the ongoing issue of kidnapping in Nigeria. The police and other security agencies remain on high alert as they continue their efforts to bring the situation to a safe resolution.
