Fake Naval Officer Arrested in Anambra for Fraudulent Activities

In a recent operation, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State has successfully apprehended an individual accused of impersonating a Nigerian Navy officer. The suspect, Chukwugozirim Christian, a 38-year-old resident of Nnobi in the Idemili North Local Government Area, was caught on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.

Christian was arrested at Kwata Junction in Awka during a routine visibility patrol conducted by the NSCDC. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Christian had been deceitfully posing as a naval officer, which allowed him to scam unsuspecting civilians and engage in various criminal activities. His actions not only undermined the authority of the Navy but also caused significant distress to the community.

Following his arrest, the NSCDC State Command has initiated a thorough investigation through its Intelligence and Investigation Department. The goal is to uncover any accomplices involved in Christian’s fraudulent operations and to dismantle the network of deceit he was part of. The NSCDC has emphasized its commitment to rooting out corruption and fraud, ensuring that all individuals involved are brought to justice.

Once the investigation is completed, Chukwugozirim Christian will face legal proceedings in court. This case underscores the ongoing efforts of the NSCDC to combat impersonation and fraudulent activities that undermine public trust and safety.
