Chelsea are reportedly in advanced discussions with Napoli to secure Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen on a season-long loan. The potential deal includes an option for Chelsea to purchase Osimhen outright at the end of the loan period.
In exchange, Chelsea might send Romelu Lukaku to Napoli in a permanent transfer. Lukaku, who is 31, could be reuniting with Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new head coach. The pair previously worked together at Inter Milan, where they enjoyed significant success.
Lukaku, who was on loan at Roma for the 2023-24 season, scored 21 goals across all competitions in 47 appearances. His strong performance in Serie A has made him a valuable asset in the transfer market.
Victor Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille in July 2020, has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Italian club. Despite his 15 goals last season, Napoli struggled to match their previous season’s success when they won their first Serie A title since 1990.
This potential move for Osimhen could be a significant boost for Chelsea as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
