Nigerian activist Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has sent a strong message to Folashade Tinubu, daughter of President Bola Tinubu and the Iyaloja of Nigeria, following her recent directive to market women about the planned nationwide protests.
Folashade Tinubu had urged market women to advise their children against protesting and to give her father, President Tinubu, three years in office before raising any complaints. This statement did not sit well with Verydarkman, who took to social media to voice his disapproval.
Verydarkman argued that it is unreasonable to expect the masses to remain silent while the current administration is worsening economic hardships. He criticized President Tinubu’s first year in office as the worst so far, emphasizing the severe impact of the significant increase in fuel prices on the population.
VDM also highlighted a contradiction in Folashade Tinubu’s position. He reminded her that her father had supported protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan when fuel prices were increased from N65 to just N87. This, he argued, makes it hypocritical to now ask for patience and silence from the public.
Verydarkman condemned the looting of properties during such events. He urged Folashade Tinubu to instead advise her father to take corrective actions to address the ongoing economic issues that are affecting Nigerians.
