Governors from all 36 states in Nigeria are currently gathered in Abuja for a meeting at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) secretariat. The meeting started on Wednesday evening, with some governors arriving around 8 pm.
Present at the venue are Governors Lawal Dauda of Zamfara, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, and Alex Otti of Abia. Meanwhile, the governors of Enugu and Borno, Peter Mbah and Babagana Zulum respectively, sent their deputies in their place.
The purpose of this meeting has not been disclosed, but it comes in the wake of planned nationwide protests scheduled for August 1 to 10. The governors’ discussions could be related to these upcoming protests, though the exact agenda remains unknown.
