Exciting news for Team Nigeria as Tobi Amusan has been chosen to be the flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This announcement was made by Tony Nezianya, the press officer for the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
Tobi Amusan is currently the world champion in the 100m hurdles and is considered one of Nigeria’s best hopes for a medal at the Olympics. Her achievements and dedication to athletics make her a perfect choice to lead the team.
Alongside Amusan, Anuoluwapo Opeyori, a skilled badminton player, has been named the team captain. Opeyori has been representing Nigeria in badminton since 2017 and has won prestigious titles, including the African Championships and African Games in the singles event in 2019. He also competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
