Nnamdi Kanu ill with Low Blood Pressure, DSS Denies Doctor Access – Ejimakor

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is currently facing serious health issues. His lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, has raised concerns about Kanu’s well-being, revealing that he is suffering from low blood pressure, shortness of breath, and general weakness. Despite these alarming symptoms, the Department of State Services (DSS) has denied Kanu access to medical care.

During a recent visit, Ejimakor and his legal team noticed that Kanu was unwell. Kanu himself reported feeling short of breath and generally unwell, with a noticeable drop in blood pressure. These symptoms are cause for concern, especially given the stressful conditions of his detention.

In response to Kanu’s deteriorating health, Ejimakor submitted a formal request for Kanu to see a doctor. Unfortunately, when the doctor arrived at the DSS facility in Abuja, they were denied access to Kanu. This refusal to provide medical care is troubling, as it raises questions about the treatment of detainees and their right to health care.

Ejimakor and his team are actively working to ensure that Kanu receives the medical attention he needs. They are advocating for his right to see a doctor and highlighting the urgency of his health situation. This case underscores the importance of humane treatment and the need for proper medical care for all detainees, regardless of their legal circumstances.

According to Ejimakor

: “Yesterday, during our visitation with MAZI NNAMDI KANU, we found him ill, with shortness of breath, low BP and general malaise.

“For this reason, he requested to see his Doctor and we submitted a letter in this regard. Today, the Doctor arrived the DSS but was denied access to #MNK.”
