Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members with a heartfelt farewell gesture. During the Passing-Out Parade for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a parting gift of N100,000 for each corps member. This generous token aims to support them as they conclude their service year and transition to new endeavors.
In addition to this commendable gesture, Governor Sanwo-Olu also allocated N100 million towards supporting NYSC staff, recognizing their pivotal role in facilitating a smooth orientation and service year for corps members across the state.
Moreover, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to infrastructure development, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a significant pledge of N5 billion for the construction of a permanent site for the NYSC Orientation Camp in Lagos State. This investment underscores the state government’s commitment to providing modern and sustainable facilities that enhance the NYSC experience for future batches of corps members.
The announcements made by Governor Sanwo-Olu reflect his administration’s proactive efforts to prioritize youth development and welfare in Lagos State. By ensuring that NYSC members receive both financial support and improved infrastructure, Governor Sanwo-Olu aims to create an enabling environment for youth empowerment and national unity through the NYSC scheme.

“This year alone I will be putting available a total of 5bn that will be used to start the full development of the permanent site for NYSC.
For this batch we have 4254 and with all sense of responsibility and because you have been very hardworking, each and everyone of you will go home with a N100,000, the money will be made available into your accounts by next week and your directors will credit your account.”
