On Saturday, the Lagos State Police Command announced that they had taken into custody a guy who was allegedly using trickery to steal an Uber vehicle from its driver.
SP The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the arrest. He said that an Uber driver, whose name was withheld, had reported something to the Akinpelu Police Division on July 5 at approximately 8:00 p.m.
The driver told the police, according to Hundeyin, that he picked up a passenger from the NNPC Filling Station in Maryland who simply identified himself as Isaiah. The passenger was driven to an Oshodi hotel in a Toyota Corolla.

He was given the car key by the driver, along with a cotton bud to clean his ear.
The suspect took the key, went downstairs, and took the automobile out of its parking space. Nevertheless, the car was stopped and searched by police on Boladale Street.
When questioned by the authorities, the suspect was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for who owned the car. He was then placed under arrest.
The driver showed up at the scene and identified his vehicle before the suspect could be brought to the police. The suspect is being held while more research is conducted.
