The discussions regarding minimum wage between Organised Labour representatives and President Bola Tinubu have once again concluded without a definitive agreement being reached.
President Bola Tinubu convened the meeting, but it ended without any clear decisions or outcomes.
Labour leaders exiting the meeting indicated that they will resume talks with the Presidency next week. Additionally, they need to report back to their respective constituencies on the discussions held with President Tinubu.
Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, emphasized that Labour continues to advocate for a minimum wage of N250,000, contrasting with the Federal Government’s proposal of N62,000.
Nigerians, especially the nation’s workforce have been expecting a new minimum wage from the government.
