Burna Boy Denies Using Songwriters: Responds to Davido’s Signee, Logos Olori

Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian musician, has refuted allegations made by Logos Olori, Davido’s signee, that he hires songwriters.

During a recent interview with City 105.1 FM, Logos Olori stated that well-known musicians such as Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy employ songwriters. He clarified that the majority of individuals don’t comprehend the music industry. Songwriters are essential to performers who tour internationally several times a week. He went on to say that even musical icons like Michael Jackson and Chris Brown have songwriters. He made it clear that although Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido write portions of their songs, they frequently need assistance. Songwriter contributions can be seen by looking up song credits on websites like Spotify.

In response, Burna Boy said he doesn’t work with songwriters on X. For He made it clear that the people listed as producers or featured artists appear on his tunes. He clarified that the reason producers’ names appear as songwriters is because producers are treated as writers of the instrumentals under western music regulations. According to Burna Boy, “Nobody fit write for Odogwu.”

This assertion runs counter to Burna Boy’s previous declaration that Peruzzi—another Davido signee—had composed a song just for him. He had claimed earlier that he had only ever engaged Peruzzi as a songwriter.
