Suspected cultists killed Ahmed Ayinla Fabiyi, a final-year student at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ogun State.
Cultists dragged Fabiyi, a history and diplomatic studies student, out of the hallway while he was finishing his final test.
According to reports, the event occurred on Wednesday at 3 p.m., just before the exam was scheduled to begin, as a result of a rekindled conflict between the Aiye and Eiye cult factions.
The group walked Fabiyi out of the hallway while feigning to be pals celebrating his birthday, according to a source.
Former SUG student leader Fabiyi was led to a wooded location next to the school’s technical workshop, where he was beaten and hacked with a machete.
The public relations officer at the university, Mrs. Ayotunde Odubela, who stated that Fabiyi’s pulled away was the only moment the gang’s actual intentions became apparent.
She added that until they noticed the attack taking place in a wooded area next to the workplace, everyone mistakenly believed it to be a birthday celebration.
Security at the school was called, but by the time they got there, Fabiyi had been brutally beaten and given a machete. When the attackers saw the security, they left.
After being taken to the school medical center, Fabiyi was directed to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, Babcock University Teaching Hospital, and ultimately the school medical facility.
Sadly, he passed away before arriving at the final hospital.
Odubela stated that the police had been notified of the occurrence.
