In Niger State, a young boy named Mohammed Isah has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing his friend, Nurudeen Nuhu, to death following an argument over a mobile phone. This unfortunate incident took place in the abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village, Minna.
According to reports, the altercation between the two friends became physical, escalating into a violent confrontation. During the fight, Isah allegedly used a knife to stab Nuhu in the stomach.
Eyewitnesses on the scene reported that the tragic event happened early on Sunday morning. After the stabbing, Nuhu collapsed, and bystanders immediately rushed him to the hospital. Despite their efforts, Nuhu was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Niger State Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident to the press. Abiodun detailed that the altercation was reported to the GRA Division, explaining the sequence of events that led to the fatal stabbing.
“It was reported at GRA Division that there was a fight between one Mohammed Isah of Angwan-Biri and Nurudeen Nuhu of Angwan-Daji at the abattoir area, Kwata Tayi village, over a handset issue,” Abiodun said. “During the fight, Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen with a knife in the stomach.”
Abiodun further explained that police operatives from the division quickly responded to the scene and took the severely injured Nuhu to the General Hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical intervention, Nuhu could not survive the injuries and was confirmed dead.
Following the incident, Mohammed Isah was promptly arrested by the police. Abiodun mentioned that a preliminary investigation is currently underway. “He will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution,” he added, ensuring that the case will be thoroughly examined and appropriate legal action will follow.
