19-Year-Old Girl Arrested for Kidnapping Elderly Pastor in Edo State

A 19-year-old girl has been arrested in Edo State for working with her boyfriend and a gang to kidnap an elderly pastor.

During a press briefing, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye, presented the suspect to the media. He explained that the girl, who claims to be an undergraduate, went with other gang members to the pastor’s house. She tricked the pastor into opening his gate by pretending to cry and claiming she was the wife of a church member who needed help.

Said Commissioner Adegboye,

“She was crying and asked the pastor for help, saying she was the wife of a church member. That was the lie she told the pastor. Once the pastor opened the door for her, the other kidnappers, who were waiting, grabbed the pastor at gunpoint and took him away,”

“She saw one of the suspects giving a gun to her boyfriend. She said her boyfriend led her into this crime. It’s unfortunate that a 19-year-old girl got involved. People need to be careful,” he added.
When questioned, the girl said she didn’t know about the crime and claimed she was forced to join.
