Betty Irabor, the founder of Genevieve Magazine, has denied the circulating reports that veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has passed away.
There had been widespread rumors on social media claiming that the 82-year-old actor died on Sunday.
Jacobs has been suffering from dementia for a while now, which has led to concerns about his health.
Irabor addressed these rumors on Twitter, stating: “Olu Jacobs is well and alive. Please ignore all rumours of his passing.”
To further reassure the public, Jacobs’ family released a video showing that the actor is indeed alive.
Last year, his wife, Joke Silva, opened up about the impact of Jacobs’ illness, sharing that it has caused significant changes in him.
She explained:
“It hasn’t been easy. There came a point when I had to accept that this is our new reality and that the person I married is only there about 20 per cent of the time.”
