Eedris Abdulkareem Questions Wole Soyinka’s Silence on Tinubu’s Administration
Controversial singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has voiced his concerns over Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka’s silence regarding President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Despite widespread hardship in Nigeria, Abdulkareem suggests that Soyinka’s personal relationship with the president might be the reason behind his lack of criticism.
Abdulkareem expressed his disappointment, highlighting that Soyinka, renowned for his outspoken criticism of previous administrations, has been unusually quiet since Tinubu took office.
In an interview with SRTV, Abdulkareem stated, “Soyinka has been very quiet lately. I know he has a good relationship with Tinubu, so we know why.”
Last year, when confronted about his silence amidst the country’s struggles, Soyinka explained that it was “too early” to judge President Tinubu’s administration. He assured that he would provide an assessment after Tinubu had been in office for a year.
Now, almost a month after the Tinubu administration marked its one-year milestone, Soyinka has yet to deliver his promised evaluation. This delay has further fueled speculation and criticism about his current stance.
