A pregnant woman named Mrs. Ogunbunmi has been kidnapped by armed men in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
Mrs. Ogunbunmi, who is close to her delivery date, was taken while she was on her way from her home in Oke Lantoro to the State Hospital in Ijaiye, Abeokuta. Her husband, Ogunbunmi Lateef, reported that he received a WhatsApp message from the kidnappers informing him of his wife’s abduction. The message also contained demands from the kidnappers, though specific details were not disclosed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen intercepted Mrs. Ogunbunmi’s car and forcefully took her away, leaving her belongings behind. The abduction has left the community in shock and fear, with residents calling for increased security measures.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, saying that the police are aware of the situation and are investigating. She assured the public that efforts are being made to rescue Mrs. Ogunbunmi safely and bring the perpetrators to justice. Odutola also urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid the investigation.
