Nineteen people got hurt in a crash between a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus, a yellow commercial bus (Danfo), and a truck in the Ketu area, heading towards Ojota in Lagos State.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) arrived at the crash site under the Ojota interchange bridge around noon on Friday, June 14. It was raining heavily at the time.
The accident happened when a truck heading towards Ketu lost control and veered off its lane. It crashed into the BRT bus heading to Ojota. The BRT bus then went off its lane into the service lane, hitting the Danfo bus.
The crash caused a major traffic jam in the area, leaving drivers stuck in traffic for hours. Thankfully, no one died in the accident.
Fifteen injured people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Four others got help from LASEMA’s pre-hospital care team and the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) at the scene.
