Unknown assailants launched a violent assault on Nkwo Ibagwa market in Enugu State, resulting in significant casualties and extensive damage to property estimated at millions of naira.

The attackers, believed to be enforcing a sit-at-home directive ahead of Biafra Heroes Day, wreaked havoc on the market, setting ablaze commercial vehicles and tricycles, and causing injuries to numerous individuals.

Tragically, the rampage claimed the lives of two people, including a young boy who was reportedly the sole son of his parents, due to a stray bullet.
