Binance Holdings Limited has expressed its willingness to resolve any past issues with the Nigerian Government, urging the authorities to release their detained executive, Tigran Gambaryan.
Gambaryan, who was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday for alleged money laundering, faced the court in visible distress, relying on crutches as he was denied a wheelchair. This has raised serious concerns about his health and well-being.
In a statement, Binance condemned the Nigerian Government’s decision to refuse Gambaryan the use of a wheelchair during the proceedings. The company highlighted a video circulating online showing Gambaryan’s suffering and stated that his condition is worsening.
Binance’s spokesperson emphasized that the company is eager to settle any alleged past issues without the need for Gambaryan’s continued detention. They called on the Nigerian Government to allow him to return home, pointing to successful resolutions of similar issues in countries like Brazil and India through constructive dialogue and legal cooperation.
The bail hearing is set to continue on September 4th, with hopes that the court will reconsider the current conditions of Gambaryan’s detention.
