The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State is preparing for a major political event as Kashim Shettima is set to visit and formally receive Dauda Lawal into the party. The event is scheduled to take place in Gusau.

The announcement was made by the state APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, during a stakeholders’ meeting. He expressed excitement over the governor’s return, describing it as a positive step for the party.

Maikatako noted that top members of the party’s national leadership will accompany the Vice President for the reception. He added that the development shows growing confidence in the APC’s platform ahead of future elections.

He also called on party members across all wards and local government areas to come out in large numbers. According to him, the visit will help strengthen the party’s structure and unity in the state.

In addition, party leaders urged members to put aside internal disagreements and focus on collective goals. They emphasised the importance of unity in building a stronger political base.

A former chairman, Lawal M. Liman, encouraged grassroots mobilisation. He stressed that the party must work together to achieve progress and remain competitive ahead of the 2027 elections.
