Benue Deputy Speaker condemns Utonkon church abduction, urges immediate security action

The Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly has strongly condemned the recent abduction that took place at a church in Utonkon community. He described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, calling for urgent steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In his reaction, the lawmaker expressed sympathy with the victims, their families, and members of the affected church. He said attacks on places of worship threaten peace and create fear among residents, stressing that such acts must not be allowed to continue.

The Deputy Speaker urged security agencies to act swiftly by intensifying operations in the area and ensuring the safe rescue of those abducted. He emphasized the need for stronger security presence in vulnerable communities to prevent further incidents.

He also called on residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement authorities by sharing useful information. According to him, collective efforts between government, security agencies, and citizens are essential to tackling insecurity in Benue State.
