Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 01, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State have announced the indefinite suspension of former state lawmaker, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye. The decision was reportedly reached after a ward meeting where party leaders and members discussed issues they said were threatening unity and cooperation within the ward.
In a letter addressed to the Osun State APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, ward officials accused Oyintiloye of several acts of misconduct. They alleged that he took control of an Executive Assistant slot and N5.6 million meant for ward leaders without approval. The letter also claimed he already had a personal EA slot through another channel while holding a federal appointment, raising concerns among party members.
The ward executives further accused the former lawmaker of actions capable of causing division, including organizing parallel meetings and staying away from ward activities for over three years. They also alleged that he failed to make financial or material contributions to party affairs despite benefiting from past political appointments. Based on these claims, the ward said it had no option but to suspend him indefinitely in the interest of party discipline.
Reacting to the development, Oyintiloye rejected the suspension, describing it as illegal and the handiwork of disgruntled individuals. He denied all allegations, insisting he neither controlled the EA slot nor handled the funds mentioned. The ex-lawmaker said he had reported the matter to the state party leadership and urged the public to ignore the suspension, maintaining that he remains a loyal and recognized member of the APC.
