Christian media forum laments abduction of Kaduna worshippers, demands immediate rescue

The Christian Media Forum (CMF) has strongly condemned the abduction of 167 Christian worshippers in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The group described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, calling on the government and security agencies to act swiftly to rescue the victims and restore confidence in public safety.

In a statement signed by its National President, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, and National Secretary, Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia, the forum urged security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the release of those taken. CMF said the attackers reportedly stormed the community during church services and carried out coordinated attacks on multiple churches.

According to the forum, gunshots were fired into the air, causing panic and confusion that made it easier for the attackers to abduct worshippers. Many people reportedly fled into nearby bushes but were later captured by other members of the group operating in the area. A local source said the attackers moved from one church to another during the operation.

The Christian Media Forum expressed deep concern over the safety and wellbeing of the abducted worshippers. It appealed to the Kaduna State Government, security agencies, and concerned Nigerians to work together to end banditry and kidnapping. The group also called for stronger preventive measures to discourage criminal activities and protect communities across the state.
