He wouldn’t try this with a Hausa or Yoruba leader – Kenneth Okonkwo tackles Gov Okpebholo over his warning to Peter Obi

Kenneth Okonkwo, who is both an actor and a politician, was a guest on Arise TV where he shared his views on a recent statement made by the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, about Peter Obi. The governor had warned that Peter Obi should not visit Edo State without first getting security clearance from him.

Governor Okpebholo explained that during Obi’s last visit to the state, three people died. Because of that, he believes it’s important for Obi to get approval before coming again.

Reacting to this, Kenneth Okonkwo said he saw the governor’s statement as a direct insult to the Igbo people. He argued that if Peter Obi were from the Hausa or Yoruba ethnic groups, the governor would not have spoken in the same way. Okonkwo believes the comment shows bias and is disrespectful to Igbos.

When asked about another statement made by the APC chairman in Edo State, Tony Tenebe, Okonkwo refused to respond. Tenebe had backed the governor, saying that many people in Edo State do not like Obi and that he should not enter the state without permission.
