A video has surfaced online showing a lecturer at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State, assaulting a male student in front of his classmates.

In the footage, students are seen standing around when one of them changes his position. The lecturer immediately reacts by slapping the student and kicking him, causing him to fall hard onto the concrete floor.

The other students scream in shock as the lecturer scolds the boy for not following instructions. The student tries to explain that he moved because he had a headache, but the lecturer continues to reprimand him. Meanwhile, other students plead on his behalf, saying, “Sorry, sir.”

The video has gone viral, sparking outrage and a discussion about the harsh treatment of students by lecturers in Nigerian institutions. Many people are calling for action against the lecturer and for better protection of students’ rights.
