A heartbreaking incident occurred early this morning near the Nigerian Army Sports Centre in Yaba, Lagos. As soldiers from the Myoung Barracks were preparing for their usual route march, a heavily drunk driver speeding through the area struck over 15 soldiers. Sadly, some soldiers lost their lives, and many others suffered serious injuries.
The tragic crash has left the military community in shock and fear. An eyewitness, who was also a soldier, described the scene: “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.” The eyewitness also mentioned that the driver was accompanied by three young men, believed to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as ‘Yahoo Boys.’
