A middle-aged man, suspected to be a “Yahoo boy” (an Internet fraudster), was arrested after allegedly killing his girlfriend for ritual purposes. The incident took place in Agwan Sarki, a border area between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Security agents acted on a tip-off and tracked the suspect to an uncompleted building. A video that is circulating on social media shows the suspect being interrogated by community members, where he confessed to killing his girlfriend. The man reportedly had her head in a polythene bag, and he claimed the rest of her body was still at his house.

Comrade Abwami Nuhuson Daniel, Secretary of the Orozo Community, shared the shocking news on his Facebook, expressing his disbelief at witnessing the crime firsthand. He mentioned that he never thought he would experience such an event in real life.

While initial reports suggested the crime occurred in the FCT, the police confirmed it took place in Nasarawa State. The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer is still looking into the matter for further details.

This disturbing incident shines a light on the ongoing issue of ritual killings, which remain a serious concern in some parts of the country.
