Really hard being a celebrity in Lagos Singer Spyro laments about being billed by strangers who insult him if he doesn’t oblige

Being a celebrity in Lagos isn’t as glamorous as it seems. Popular singer Spyro recently shared how tough it can be to handle the expectations and demands from strangers.

Spyro revealed that every time he steps out, he spends at least N100,000 giving money to people who approach him for help. If he goes out three times a week, that’s N300,000 weekly, adding up to N1.2 million each month and N15 million a year.

He recounted an incident where a stranger insulted him simply because he said he didn’t have money to give. Spyro lamented that everyone expects him to give but no one offers him anything in return.

This story sheds light on the financial and emotional pressure celebrities face, especially in a city like Lagos, where they are often seen as a constant source of financial support. For Spyro, the fame comes with an overwhelming cost, both literally and figuratively.
