Kingsley Udoh, a former footballer, recently opened up about the many challenges he’s facing in life. In an emotional interview on Brila FM’s No Holds Barred, he shared how tough things have been for him both financially and personally.
Udoh, who once played for Heartland before moving to Kano Pillars, revealed a painful experience from his past. He was told that the money owed to him by Heartland had been approved, so he flew back to Owerri from Kano, hoping to receive it. However, after staying in a hotel for three days, he left empty-handed, without a single kobo.
“Life is not easy for me at all,” he confessed. “Paying house rent is really hard, and I can’t afford to take coaching courses, something I really want to do. I’m married with four kids, and my wife is dealing with a serious ulcer.”
Udoh went on to explain how his financial struggles have made it difficult for him to move forward in life. Despite his desire to attend coaching courses and improve his career, money has been a constant barrier.
Adding to his challenges, Udoh shared the emotional pain of losing a cherished symbol from his football career: his U-17 FIFA World Cup gold medal. His father had been the keeper of the medal, but since his father’s passing, it has gone missing, and he is deeply saddened by the loss.
Udoh’s story sheds light on the tough reality many athletes face after their careers end. Despite his hardships, he remains hopeful and continues to seek help in overcoming the challenges in his life.
