Veteran actress Ngozi Nwosu has made it clear that she will no longer provide free services to her home state of Abia State. During a recent interview, she shared her reasons for this decision, expressing disappointment over the lack of support she received from the state during a serious health crisis several years ago.
In 2012, Nwosu faced a severe kidney-related illness. At that time, she felt abandoned by the Abia state government, which did not offer her any help. She stated, “I have personally said that there is nothing my state will call me for that I would go for free. They would pay through their nose for me to be there.”
Nwosu highlighted how it was actually a fan who alerted the Lagos State government about her situation. Thanks to this intervention, the Lagos government provided her with N4.5 million to help with her medical expenses, which totaled N6 million. She was also able to raise N2 million with the help of caring Nigerians.
Now, Ngozi Nwosu emphasizes the importance of recognizing the support she received from others. While she is thankful for the assistance, she wants to make it clear that in the future, any services she provides to Abia State will come with a hefty price tag. Her experience serves as a reminder of the significance of support during challenging times, and she continues to ask for prayers as she moves forward with her treatment.
