The situation escalated to the point where she had to withdraw from the competition for her safety.
Despite this setback, Chidimma’s determination remained strong. Shortly after her withdrawal, she received an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition, organized by Silverbird, and she embraced the opportunity. Her victory in this competition was a moment of triumph, allowing her to return to her roots and represent Nigeria on a global stage.
During the ceremony, Governor Mbah highlighted Chidimma’s story as an example of true grit and resilience, qualities that define the people of Enugu State. He said, “Despite the challenges, you demonstrated that you are a true daughter of Enugu State. You overcame those obstacles with the determination we are known for. We are extremely proud of your achievements.”
In his address, Governor Mbah underscored how Chidimma’s success would serve as a source of inspiration for young people, particularly girls, across the state. He acknowledged that many young people face significant challenges, but Chidimma’s example shows that with perseverance, they too can reach their dreams.
