A Catholic priest recently apologized to the family of an altar boy after a video surfaced online showing him knocking the boy on the head during a wedding ceremony. The incident occurred while the priest was officiating, and the altar boy was holding a microphone for the groom.

The video shows the priest knocking the boy when he didn’t hold the microphone close enough to the groom’s mouth. This moment sparked online outrage, leading the priest to meet with the family to apologize for his actions.

In a video shared on TikTok, the priest explained that the knock was unintentional and happened “accidentally.” He apologized to both the boy and his family, assuring them it was not a deliberate act. He explained that the boy’s positioning of the microphone made the groom’s voice too quiet, and in the heat of the moment, he reacted without thinking.

The family, however, did not take offense. They told the priest they hadn’t seen the video and didn’t feel there was anything wrong with what happened. The boy’s father even supported the priest’s action, saying it was a form of “normal correction” and added that he would have blamed the priest if he hadn’t corrected his son. The boy, too, apparently understood the situation and didn’t feel the need to report it.

In a touching moment, the priest called the boy over, touched him gently on the head, and apologized. The boy’s father reassured the priest again, saying the incident was nothing serious, and they even exchanged phone numbers to stay in touch.

Despite the online outrage, it’s clear that the family didn’t see the priest’s action as harmful, but instead as a minor correction. Both the priest and the family ended their conversation on good terms.
