The Labour Party has addressed rumors surrounding a possible return of Peter Obi to the party.Speaking at a Tuesday meeting of the Usman-led National Working Committee (NWC), the party’s National Secretary, Darlington Okocha, described Obi as a “man of principle,” noting that his decision to leave the Labour Party for another platform was made after deep reflection.
Okocha stated that Obi’s principled nature makes a return unlikely, adding that the party has already wished him well in his new political path.
He further emphasized that the Labour Party remains under capable and effective national leadership, stressing that integrity is central to the party’s values, while also acknowledging Obi’s commitment to maintaining his own integrity.
According to Okocha, discussions about Obi’s possible return should be put to rest, given the strength and stability of the party’s current leadership.
