Bandits attack Kebbi villages, many feared dead

Suspected armed bandits have attacked Jindani and Mai Kaho villages in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, leaving several people feared dead, many injured, and some abducted. The attack reportedly took place late at night, according to security analyst Bakatsine.

Among the victims was an elderly woman who lost her life during the raid. Residents confirmed that those targeted were innocent civilians with no known ties to armed groups. The communities are located in a forested area that has long experienced repeated attacks, violence, and displacement.

The incident has deepened fear among local residents, as armed banditry continues to spread across villages in Nigeria’s North-West region. Many people are still unaccounted for, and efforts to assess the full extent of the casualties are ongoing.

Security agencies have yet to release an official statement on the attack, while local authorities are urged to provide protection and support to the affected communities. Analysts warn that without increased security presence, these rural areas remain highly vulnerable to future attacks.
