The Kano State Government has assured residents that the ongoing Emirate tussle will soon be resolved amicably. Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, said on Thursday that concrete measures have been put in place to restore peace and stability in the state. He stressed that the administration is committed to engaging all stakeholders to ensure the matter does not generate further tension or affect governance.
Waiya explained that the government’s approach is guided by respect for the rule of law, traditional institutions, and the collective interests of Kano people. He emphasized that dialogue and collaboration remain central to resolving the disputes surrounding the Emirate.
On Governor Abba Yusuf’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the commissioner described the move as beneficial for the state, noting that closer alignment with the Federal Government would attract more projects, interventions, and development initiatives across sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and social welfare.
Regarding the political future of the deputy governor, who has not joined the APC, Waiya said the decision is a personal one. He reaffirmed that the Kano State Government remains focused on inclusive governance, unity, and development, urging residents to remain calm and supportive as efforts continue to resolve outstanding issues.
