United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has assured that the US will work with Nigeria to ensure that all citizens can live and practice their faith without fear of persecution or violence. Moore made the remarks on his verified X handle on Saturday, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the two countries on security and human rights issues.
The lawmaker applauded the creation of the U.S.–Nigeria Working Group, describing it as a crucial step to enhance coordination and cooperation in tackling security challenges. The group aims to combat violent terrorism, particularly in northern and middle-belt regions, and to protect Nigerians from persecution by radical groups.
Moore emphasized that this partnership provides Nigeria with an opportunity to strengthen ties with the US while addressing economic and security challenges. He also noted that Nigeria can become a stabilizing force in the region by working with international partners to ensure the safety and freedom of its people.
He further expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for its proactive approach in addressing security issues. According to Moore, the joint efforts demonstrate Nigeria’s commitment to protecting its citizens and promoting religious freedom, signaling positive developments despite ongoing challenges.
