Kwankwaso warns supporters against money politics after Gov Yusuf’s exit from NNPP

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has warned his supporters against engaging in money politics following the defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, from the party. Kwankwaso stressed that the strength of the NNPP lies in the support of the people, not in financial inducements or political patronage.

Speaking to party faithful, Kwankwaso urged members to remain calm and focused despite the governor’s exit. He said political movements built on integrity, discipline and popular support often face pressure, but must not lose their core values. According to him, using money to influence loyalty would weaken the party’s ideals and long-term vision.

Kwankwaso explained that the NNPP was formed to give ordinary Nigerians a voice and to challenge the dominance of money-driven politics. He encouraged supporters to continue mobilising at the grassroots level, educating voters and standing firm on principles that promote good governance and accountability.

He further assured party members that defections are part of the political process and should not discourage them. Kwankwaso maintained that the NNPP would continue to grow by relying on credibility, service to the people and issue-based politics rather than financial influence.
