Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have arrested a bullion van driver for driving against traffic on a major road in Lagos. The incident reportedly caused brief disruption and attracted the attention of other road users.
According to LASTMA, the driver was caught moving in the wrong direction, an action that posed serious danger to motorists and pedestrians. Traffic officers quickly intervened and stopped the vehicle to prevent a possible accident.
LASTMA officials said the arrest shows that no vehicle or driver is above the law, including drivers of security or cash-carrying vehicles. They stressed that traffic rules are meant to protect lives and must be obeyed by everyone.
The agency has again warned motorists to avoid one-way driving and other traffic violations in Lagos. It urged drivers to remain patient on the road and follow traffic laws to ensure safety and smooth movement across the state.
