The Benue State Government has successfully recovered Yaman Park from private operators, bringing the popular recreational facility back under state control. The move is part of the government’s effort to ensure proper management and accessibility of public spaces to residents.
Officials from the Benue Ministry of Tourism and Parks stated that the park will now be renovated and managed directly by the government to provide improved services for visitors. The authorities emphasized the need to make the park safe, clean, and family-friendly.
Residents of Makurdi and surrounding areas have welcomed the decision, expressing optimism that government management will ensure better maintenance and enhance recreational activities in the state. The recovery also aims to prevent further misuse or commercial exploitation of the park.
