The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Oluwaseun Oshodi as the new Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund Board. The confirmation followed his screening by lawmakers, who expressed confidence in his ability to help strengthen sports development across the state.

Lawmakers noted that Oshodi brings experience, energy, and a clear vision that aligns with the state government’s plans to grow grassroots and professional sports. They said his leadership is expected to attract more private sector support and improve funding for sports programmes and facilities in Lagos.

Speaking after his confirmation, Oshodi thanked the Assembly and the state government for the trust placed in him. He promised to work with stakeholders, sports associations, and young athletes to ensure that sports continues to play a major role in youth development, job creation, and social inclusion.

The Lagos Sports Trust Fund was created to support sports through partnerships and sustainable funding. With Oshodi now at the helm, expectations are high that the board will expand investment in sports infrastructure, nurture talent, and raise Lagos’ profile as a leading sports hub in Nigeria and Africa.
