The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dismissed reports that a Kano High Court reversed the dissolution of its state executives, describing the claims as false and legally flawed. The party stated that its National Working Committee (NWC) was not served with any court documents, adding that media reports suggesting the reinstatement of party executives at the state, local government, and ward levels are mere rumours.
NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, said even if such an order exists, it would violate legal principles, as courts do not have jurisdiction over the internal affairs of political parties. The party emphasized that the dissolution of its Kano State executives at all levels remains valid, citing Supreme Court rulings that classify political party matters as non-justiciable.
The party accused some judges of potential influence by unscrupulous politicians and urged public scrutiny of the judiciary as Nigeria moves towards the 2027 elections. Johnson added that any unlawful judicial intervention would be challenged through all legal means, including reporting responsible officers to the National Judicial Council.
NNPP concluded that it will pursue all lawful measures to protect its internal party decisions, maintain organizational discipline, and prevent any legal overreach that could undermine the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
