Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has shared his thoughts ahead of Nigeria’s quarter-final match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He warned that the next game could be very difficult and might be where Nigeria’s journey in the tournament ends.

Oliseh said the quality of teams remaining in the competition is very high and that mistakes at this stage can be very costly. According to him, the Super Eagles must be careful, disciplined, and focused if they want to progress beyond the quarter-final.

He also pointed out that the opponent Nigeria will face is well-organised, strong in attack, and experienced in knockout matches. This, he said, makes the game unpredictable and dangerous for any team.

Despite his caution, Oliseh encouraged the Super Eagles to believe in themselves, play as a team, and fight for victory, adding that football can always surprise people.
