The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has shut down a local hotel after discovering that it was accommodating underage girls. The operation, carried out on Monday, was part of the board’s ongoing efforts to enforce moral standards and protect minors across the state.

Officials said the hotel management had allowed girls below the legal age to stay without proper supervision, violating state laws and regulations on child protection. The affected hotel was immediately closed, and its activities suspended pending further investigation.

The Hisbah Board warned other hospitality operators in Sokoto State to comply with laws regarding the accommodation of minors. They emphasized that failure to adhere to regulations could lead to similar actions, including fines, closure, or legal prosecution.
