The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed popular activist Aisha Yesufu as the Deputy Chair of its newly formed membership revalidation committee. The party said the committee was set up to clean up its membership register, remove inactive names, and ensure that only genuine members are captured ahead of future elections.
ADC leaders explained that the revalidation exercise is part of wider reforms aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structure and improving transparency. They believe that appointing Aisha Yesufu, who is known for her activism and public accountability work, will help build trust among members and the general public.
According to the party, the committee will supervise the nationwide verification of members, update records, and address complaints from members who may have been wrongly excluded or omitted. The exercise is also expected to help the party identify active supporters and better prepare for grassroots mobilisation.
Yesufu thanked the party leadership for the confidence placed in her and promised to serve with integrity and fairness. She urged party members to fully cooperate with the committee so the revalidation process can be smooth, credible, and beneficial to the future of the ADC.
