AFCON 2025: Super Eagles earn $80,000 goals bonus 

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have pocketed $80,000 for their prolific scoring at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had promised $5,000 per goal during the group stage, rewarding the team for their attacking efficiency.

During the group stage, Nigeria scored eight goals across three matches against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, earning $40,000 in bonuses. The team added another $40,000 after netting four goals in their Round of 16 clash against Mozambique, bringing the total goals bonus to $80,000.

The Super Eagles are now preparing for their quarter-final match against Algeria’s Desert Foxes at the Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday. Ahead of the game, the team will travel from Fès to Marrakesh on Thursday to complete their preparations.

The NFF’s incentive scheme highlights the federation’s commitment to motivating players and rewarding attacking performance, reinforcing Nigeria’s ambition to go all the way in AFCON 2025.
