Make peace with Wike – Borno PDP elders tell Makinde, Mohammed

Elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno State have called on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to reconcile with former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for the sake of party unity. They said ongoing disagreements among top leaders are weakening the party and reducing its chances ahead of future elections.

The elders warned that internal divisions could seriously harm the PDP’s ability to compete effectively in 2027. According to them, leaders should put aside personal differences and focus on rebuilding trust, cooperation and a shared political vision that can strengthen the party nationwide.

They stressed that Wike remains a strong political force whose influence cannot be ignored, especially in the South-South and parts of the South-East. The elders said bringing him back into full cooperation with the party leadership would help restore balance and confidence among party members and supporters.

The Borno PDP elders urged Makinde and Mohammed to act in the interest of the party rather than personal ambitions. They called for dialogue, forgiveness and compromise, saying unity is the only way the PDP can regain public trust and present a strong alternative to the ruling party.
