Jandor hails Tinubu over reforms boosting local government financing

Former Lagos governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reforms aimed at improving the financial strength of local governments across Nigeria. He said the policies are helping councils access more funds directly and perform better at the grassroots level.

Jandor noted that the new financial direction has reduced delays and leakages in allocations meant for local councils. According to him, this has made it easier for chairmen to plan, execute projects, and respond quickly to the needs of their communities.

He added that stronger local governments mean better service delivery in areas such as primary healthcare, rural roads, sanitation, and education. Jandor stressed that empowering councils financially will bring development closer to ordinary Nigerians.

The former governorship candidate urged other political leaders to support the reforms and avoid actions that could weaken local government autonomy. He said sustained commitment from all levels of government is necessary to ensure that the gains of the reforms are protected and expanded.
