The Oluwo of Iwo has dismissed reports linking his town to terrorism, describing the allegations as false and misleading. He said Iwo remains calm and safe, contrary to claims suggesting insecurity in the area. According to the monarch, such reports only create unnecessary fear among residents and outsiders.
Speaking on the issue, the traditional ruler stressed that there has been no known terrorist activity in the town. He explained that security agencies are present and actively working with community leaders to maintain peace and order. The Oluwo added that daily activities continue normally without disruption.
The monarch warned against spreading unverified information, noting that it could damage the image of the town and discourage investment and tourism. He urged the public and media to always confirm facts before publishing sensitive security-related stories.
Reaffirming his position, the Oluwo called on residents to remain law-abiding and continue cooperating with security agencies. He expressed confidence that Iwo will continue to enjoy peace, unity, and stability despite attempts to portray it otherwise.
