NAPTIP reunites seven trafficked victims with families in Kano

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has successfully reunited seven victims of human trafficking with their families in Kano State. The victims, who were trafficked to different locations under false promises, were rescued through coordinated efforts by the agency and other security partners.

NAPTIP officials explained that the victims were mostly young people who had been deceived with offers of jobs, education, or better living conditions. After investigations and counseling sessions, the agency traced their families and arranged a formal reunion in Kano, bringing relief and joy to relatives who had lost contact with their loved ones.

The agency stressed that beyond rescue operations, rehabilitation and reintegration remain key parts of its work. The victims were provided with medical care, psychological support, and skills training to help them rebuild their lives and avoid falling back into trafficking networks.

NAPTIP also used the opportunity to warn Nigerians, especially parents and guardians, to be vigilant. The agency urged the public to report suspicious movements and recruiters, noting that community support is vital in the fight against human trafficking across the country.
